From higher up, the whole arrangement makes sense at last. White villas sit in a neat row beside the splash park, its umbrellas scattered like sweets on a tray. Palms crowd around the edges, and beyond them the sea turns a bright turquoise that looks almost edited. The sky is clean, with one thin streak of cloud. It is half past three and the water calls.
