Tan dog standing in the middle of an asphalt road staring ahead, a white dog walking behind it
View from a dark doorway onto a bright tiled courtyard where two pale dogs stand near a metal gate
From inside the dark doorway, the courtyard is a bright rectangle of tiles and dust, two pale dogs standing in the middle of it like they own the place. Beyond them, an arched metal gate and a tiled roof. Dry leaves lie scattered across the floor. Half past three in the dry season, and the house stays cool while the yard bakes.
Two white-headed birds with dark eye stripes perched on the rim of a large glazed pot by a stone wallBlack and white dog with a collar rolling on its back on gravel, mouth open, among dry leavesLone bare tree on the left against a pale hazy sky, blue hill and dark trees along the bottomClose-up of a brown and white dog with large upright ears and a white blaze, looking straight aheadRow of orange-red fire and rescue trucks parked along a leafy dirt road under treesTree silhouette against a hazy peach sky, the setting sun burning through the right side of its canopy
Rounded pink-tinted cloud above a layer of grey haze against a blue-grey sky
The cloud has gathered itself into one rounded heap, its edges blushing where the last light touches them. Underneath, grey haze rolls flat like a second horizon. Nothing moves fast. The colour fades a little every few breaths, the way a room dims when someone slowly turns the lamp down.
